Cymbidium rectum, commonly known as the “Erect Cymbidium,” is native to the moist, open forests of Southeast Asia, particularly in Thailand, Malaysia, and the island of Borneo, where it typically grows at elevations between 400 and 800 meters. This epiphytic orchid was first formally described in 1920 by Henry Nicholas Ridley, based on a specimen collected in Malaya.
